DSTV is trending because Multichoice has increased price of GoTV and DSTV packages by ~26%, effective March 1st 2025. Their first increase of the year.

It’s the first increase in 2025.
In 2022 DSTV increased its prices, Senate asked them to revert, they successfully went ahead to increase it two more times.
In 2024, they got sued. A tribunal ruled against an increase. DSTV still increased its tariffs twice, the case was dropped.
Based on this trend, we expect another increase, in conjunction with a senate order or a smoky court case.
However unlike previous years, Nigerians are no longer complaining.
